Tsi-La: What is Oil Pulling?
Oil pulling is an Ayurvedic detox method that you may want to try as an alternative to mouthwash.
In a small bowl, simply combine:
1 drop of Tea Tree Oil with
1 tablespoon of Coconut Oil.
Mix well
Place the mixture in your mouth and swish it around as you would a mouthwash for 10 minutes.
The benefits? Tea tree essential oil is known for its antibacterial properties and for improving the gums. Coconut oil is also excellent for your gums due to its anti fungal and anti bacterial properties.
Give it a try and tell me what you think!
Love,
Annie
xoxo
PS - Be sure to discard the oil into your trash so you do not clog your drain!

Double Up On Your Health: A Raw Chocolate Recipe from Tsi-La
What if we had a recipe that helped your skin both internally and externally? This delicious dessert does just that! For this delectable treat you'll need:
2 level teaspoons of raw cacao powder
1 level tablespoon of raw lucuma powder
1 pinch of sea salt
1 level tablespoon of raw coconut butter
2 tablespoons pure water and
1/2 cup of ripe banana (1 banana)
In a bowl combine the raw cacao powder, raw lucuma powder and sea salt by gently stirring them together. Fold in the tablespoon of raw coconut butter and slowly add the water as you stir the mixture to achieve your desired consistency... I like mine just thick enough to coat the back of my spoon. Next...mix the decadent chocolate mixture with a 1/2 cup of mashed bananas for a wonderful, healthy dessert.
Or add all ingredients to a Vitamix and blend well*
And don't forget...
Save a small amount of the mixture and apply it as a nourishing face mask!

Tsi-La: Behind Our USDA Organic Seal...
You may have seen the label on your favorite food at the grocery store. Or even skimmed past the seal affixed to your new bottle of Tsi-La. But...
Have you ever wondered what the "USDA Organic" logo means? Well...
For a product to be deemed organic it must be composed of at least 95% organically produced ingredients. Plus, the organically produced ingredients must be processed, handled and labeled according to strict government's standards.
So, the next time you see "USDA Organic" you'll have some insight as to why USDA Organic is considered the best of the best for you and your family.

Tsi-la: How to Spice Up Your Homemade Rose Perfume
We recently shared a blog that showed you how to make your own rose perfume. But, did you know that...
Although the recipe called for rose oil, some of the drops can be replaced with other essential oils to create a more complex perfume? For example:
Try adding Sandelwood as a base note or
Layer it with one of your favorite Tsi-La Aromatic extraits.
The sky is the limit with what you can create!

Tsi-La: Make Your Own Single Note Rose Perfume
Have you ever wanted to make your own perfume? Tsi-La wants to show you how!
Why not try to make our single note rose perfume recipe?
You'll only need:
2 ounces of Grain Alcohol
20 drops of Rose Absolute
One small funnel
Some coffee filters
A bowl and
One empty bottle - large enough for storing it
Directions:
1) Using the small funnel, pour 2 ounces of Grain Alcohol into the empty bottle. 2) Carefully add 20 drops of rose absolute to the 2 ounces of Grain Alcohol. 3) Securely place the top on the bottle and shake gently. 4) allow the mixture to age for 4 weeks. This step is very important since the aging process allows the aromatic constituents and energy of the plant to fuse with the alcohol.
After the aging process...
1) Chill the "perfume" briefly. 5) Next, filter the chilled perfume by gently pouring it into a coffee filter situated over a bowl. Catch the perfume in the bowl. 6) Using the small funnel, pour the mixture from the bowl back into your bottle. 7) Chill and repeat until all traces of undissolved rose oil are removed.
Seem easy? It really is!

Tsi-La Behind the Scenes With Annie / What is Organic Anyway?
Today I started to prep the bottles that will eventually house our new Kesu blend. As I was sterilizing the bottles, I found myself thinking about what "organic" really means and why I think Tsi-La is better than organic.
Yes, our products are 100% natural, organic fragrances and skin care products made from the world's finest essential oils and plant botanicals. Sure, our products are free of phthalates, parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, preservatives, and other harmful ingredients commonly found in traditional perfumery. So...
Why are we better than organic? It's simple.
We put love into everything we do.
Even sterilizing bottles!

Tsi-la: Behind The Scenes With Annie / Art of Design
Our last few blogs have been about our new Kesu blend and the organic ingredients we use to create it. But did you know we are just as concerned about what we put your perfume in? Our bottles are designed to be a piece of art too! We tried of prototype after prototype before we decided on our "no excess package" design. Just another way we are doing what we can to help mother earth.
The Kesu is coming together!

Tsi-La: Behind The Scenes With Annie / Sandalwood
Today I checked on my Kesu blend to see how it's coming along.... and I have to say the sandalwood we used is really starting to shine! We use Sandalwood in our Kesu perfume because we love its bright, woody, warm scent. But... did you know that Sandalwood has been a key ingredient in religious ceremonies in India for thousands of years? The history of the ingredients we use is amazing!
I'll keep you posted!

Tsi~La: Behind The Scenes / Aging process
As I write this, we are bottling up the compounds for our newest Kesu batch. We carefully poured the batch into closed, dark vessels; where they will sit for the next 8 weeks. You can't rush perfection! The Tsi-La aging process fuses the flowers, spices, woods and resins with the organic base oil and develops into our luxurious perfumes. Now comes the really hard part for me... waiting!
I'll keep you posted!

Tsi-La + Body Brushing = Healthier You
I love "Dry Body Brushing"; a unique way to open your pores, revitalize your skin cells and increase
your blood circulation. Best of all it's a snap to do before you get in the shower.
Simply:
Grab your favorite natural bristled brush ~ I prefer one that is slightly soft. Using long, sweeping motions brush your entire body beginning at your feet and moving upward in the direction of your heart..
Why in the direction of the heart?
Because you want to mirror the lymphatic system which flows toward the heart and helps increase your immunity.
When done, enjoy a hot shower to wash toxins away and apply your favorite Tsi-La essential oil to your skin for a fresh, healthier you!
Enjoy!

Summer Bride Perfume Tip 3
Classic florals can create a
feeling of glamorous luxury. . a contemporary take on
traditional floral for its timeless, grown-up feel. It boasts top notes
of tuberose and jasmine, freshened up with a hint of citrus. With a
heart note of tuberose, romance is certainly in the air once you
breeze by your guests, and amber provides a sexy base for that extra
oomph of femininity.

Summer Bride - Part 2
Flirty Floral
The most popular and diverse, delicate feminine fragrances with flowery top notes . They are always flirty and romantic and can also be light, soft, exotic or classically sweet. To choose the right one for you, it’s important to take a sniff of different combinations. The blossoms you like may surprise you, so it’s good to keep an open mind when exploring these options. You may prefer something more modern like a juicy fruity floral (sometimes considered “fresh” if citrus is involved) with notes like tart berries, currants, nectarines and other essences that take you into a summer garden with fresh lemonade
