Tsi-La: Make Your Own Single Note Rose Perfume

Have you ever wanted to make your own perfume? Tsi-La wants to show you how!

Why not try to make our single note rose perfume recipe?

You'll only need:

2 ounces of Grain Alcohol
20 drops of Rose Absolute
One small funnel
Some coffee filters
A bowl and
One empty bottle - large enough for storing it

Directions:

1) Using the small funnel, pour 2 ounces of Grain Alcohol into the empty bottle. 2) Carefully add 20 drops of rose absolute to the 2 ounces of Grain Alcohol. 3) Securely place the top on the bottle and shake gently. 4) allow the mixture to age for 4 weeks. This step is very important since the aging process allows the aromatic constituents and energy of the plant to fuse with the alcohol.

After the aging process...

1) Chill the "perfume" briefly. 5) Next, filter the chilled perfume by gently pouring it into a coffee filter situated over a bowl. Catch the perfume in the bowl. 6) Using the small funnel, pour the mixture from the bowl back into your bottle.  7) Chill and repeat until all traces of undissolved rose oil are removed.

Seem easy? It really is!

Let us know what you think....

Tsi-La Behind the Scenes With Annie / What is Organic Anyway?

Today I started to  prep the bottles that will eventually house our new Kesu blend. As I was sterilizing the bottles, I found myself thinking about what "organic" really means and why I think Tsi-La is better than organic.

Yes, our products are 100% natural, organic fragrances and skin care products made from the world's finest essential oils and plant botanicals. Sure, our products are free of phthalates, parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, preservatives, and other harmful ingredients commonly found in traditional perfumery.  So...

Why are we better than organic? It's simple.

We put love into everything we do.

Even sterilizing bottles!

Love,

Annie

Tsi-la: Behind The Scenes With Annie / Art of Design

Our last few blogs have been about our new Kesu blend and the organic ingredients we use to create it. But did you know we are just as concerned about what we put your perfume in? Our bottles are designed to be a piece of art too! We tried of prototype after prototype before we decided on our "no excess package" design. Just another way we are doing what we can to help mother earth.

The Kesu is coming together!

Tsi-La: Behind The Scenes With Annie / Sandalwood

Today I checked on my Kesu blend to see how it's coming along.... and I have to say the sandalwood we used is really starting to shine! We use Sandalwood in our Kesu perfume because we love its bright, woody, warm scent. But... did you know that Sandalwood has been a key ingredient in religious ceremonies in India for thousands of years? The history of the ingredients we use is amazing!

I'll keep you posted!

Tsi~La: Behind The Scenes  / Aging process
As I write this, we are bottling up the compounds for our newest Kesu batch. We carefully poured the batch into closed, dark vessels; where they will sit for the next 8 weeks. You can't rush perfection! The Tsi-La aging process fuses the flowers, spices, woods and resins with the organic base oil and develops into our luxurious perfumes. Now comes the really hard part for me... waiting!
I'll keep you posted!
Take Care,

Tsi~La: Behind The Scenes With Annie / Frankincense

I am so thrilled with the new frankincense we just procured for our new batch of Kesu! We just compounded the frankincense today along with some sandalwood and cedarwood and it is already smelling smoky and seductive. Next, we'll age the compound  to reveal the true complexity of the natural material and reveal the soul of the plant!

Stay tuned!

Take Care,

Annie
